It was previously possible to reclaim salary paid for notice worked under the furlough scheme but all that changed from December last year.
From 1 December 2020 an employer is unable to reclaim for salary paid during notice worked under the scheme. This is not limited to notice served following redundancy.
A furlough claim can be paid for salary during redundancy consultation but as soon as notice is worked eligibility will cease.
As before, the scheme cannot be used to reclaim payment in lieu of notice or redundancy pay.
